Q: How long have you been painting?
A: 13 years
Q: Do you use brushes?
A: No, it is all done with a pallet knife.
Q: Why do you carve your name into the paint?
A: I never liked signature, I think they take away from the art so I make the signature part of the painting.
Q: How long does it take the paint to dry?
A: It dries externally in a few months, will harden after a year or so and then continues to dry internally for years after.
Q: How do you clean the paintings?
A: I have applied a glazing medium that adds like a varnish and protects the painting. You can use a feather duster or a soft paintbrush to dust the painting. You should not apply any pressure to it for at least a year.
Q: Can I bubble wrap the painting when I move or how should it be shipped?
A: For the first two years you should not put pressure on the painting, you risk smashing the paint. After the outer layer is hard you can bubble wrap it but make sure it is not a wrapped tight and that there is not a lot of pressure on the painting.
Q: Is there anyone else that paint like you?
A: There are various artists that paint thick, but not like me. I don’t paint from pictures, every painting is made up as I go along, I don’t draw anything before I start. I’m jot sure what it is going to look like in the end.(unless it is a commission piece). This is different than someone that paints a landscape or a certain flower, therefore it is hard to replicate.
