Why Create What I Create?

I have always loved sculptures and things that made me want to touch them. When I first started painting I strictly created nonrepresentational art. 90% of art is absract because it is a distorted version of something realistic. In the beginning I looked for found objects to paint over to create the depth and texture I wanted. I used everything from burlap, sand, glass, metal and objects out of burnt down houses. I was painting with acrylic at the time and found it hard to get the colors to blend the way I wanted them to... they just dried too fast and dried flat. That is why I changed to oil and continied to create nonrepresentational art. My art started looking very botanical similar to flowers and forests. This is how I came to paint flowers however abstract they may be.
